The lucky player claimed a $100,000 top prize on the $100,000 Crossword scratch-off after purchasing five $10 tickets at Harford Citgo on Harford Road.

This win comes hot on the heels of a $50,000 prize she won last month on a Ca$h Plu$ scratch-off, bringing her total to an incredible $150,000 in just two months.

Her secret to success? Strategy.

She uses the Maryland Lottery app to identify games with top prizes still available, she said.

“I always check which games have the most big prizes left and buy those,” the winner explained.

On the day of her most recent win, a gut feeling led her to the $100,000 Crossword game. Among the tickets she bought, one turned out to be the jackpot winner.

Smaller prizes on the other tickets were just the cherry on top.

After scanning her ticket on the Lottery app, she immediately shared the exciting news with her daughter, who was thrilled.

The retiree, who keeps busy with her family—including two daughters, nearly a dozen grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—says she plans to use her winnings for some home improvements.
